River City Girls 2 brings Misako and Kyoko back with Kunio, Riki, Marian, and Provie for another side-scrolling brawler from WayForward. The setup is pure arcade brawler. An old enemy is back, River City is in trouble again, and the answer is to punch through gangs, bosses, and whatever else blocks the road.
River City Girls 2 gives you more to do between fights than the first game. Shops sell items and accessories, defeated enemies can join as recruits, and levelling up unlocks new moves. Local and online co-op are both here too. In combat, guard-crush attacks, lift-off combos, and double-team moves make the brawling more involved than simple punch-and-kick cleanup.
River City Girls 2 is for anyone who wants co-op action after the slower horror adventure. It has bright pixel art, big character attitude, and more of River City to fight through as the game moves forward. This is the easier one to jump into with someone else, especially if you want co-op action instead of a slower horror adventure.
