EA has some of the best ports on Stadia – from Jedi Fallen Order to FIFA 22. But, there has been a bit of drought in new game announcements from EA, and the recent news that Madden 23 will not be coming to the platform has had folks a bit worried about (the more popular) FIFA’s fate.

Now, after months of speculation, pondering, and following clues, we can confirm that FIFA 23 has officially been announced for Stadia during the official reveal on the EA YouTube Channel. The game launches on September 30th, 2022 – but you get it 3 days early (September 27) if you pre-order, which you can now do on the Stadia Store: Pre-order on Stadia.

Hypermotion 2 and Cross-Play Supported on Stadia

The trailer also revealed that HyperMotion 2 will be in tow for the Stadia version, PC and other current gen consoles (with PS4 and XBOX ONE left out). As expected, cross-play is also included – now including FUT modes! FIFA has put out a page with all the details about how cross-play will work in FIFA 23.

There have been many clues out there for the eagled eye Stadian that FIFA 23 would be coming. From testing cross play on FIFA 22 earlier this year, to tweets from reputable leakers and even retweets from Stadia. However, as always, it is best to wait until the official announcement – which we have today.

It is great to see ongoing support from EA for Stadia. We hope it continues for a long time to come.
