Gameflix TV Announces Cloud Casual TV Gaming Portal With 50+ Games

Gameflix TV has announced its new Cloud Casual TV Gaming portal, bringing more than 50 instant-play games to connected televisions. The company is promoting games that can be streamed without downloads, with smartphones serving as controllers instead of separate console hardware. Motion and augmented reality (AR) technology are also part of the new offering.

Gameflix TV founder and CEO Sharon Malkiel introduced the portal on LinkedIn, sharing a promotional image of its TV interface.

Over 50 Games on Gameflix TV’s Cloud Gaming Portal

More than 50 games are being advertised for the portal, although the announcement doesn’t provide a complete catalogue. The emphasis is on starting a game directly from the TV screen, without downloading it first.

The promotional image shows how games are presented. Little Dino Adventure fills a large featured card, with a green Play Now button below its name. Its artwork shows cartoon dinosaurs against a colourful forest background.

The card also displays Multiplayer and Ages 5+ labels alongside a 4.8 rating. Those labels give people browsing the portal some basic information before opening the game. A Recommended section appears underneath the featured game. That suggests a place to browse other games beyond the main card.

Smartphone Controls, Motion and AR Technology

Instead of asking people to buy dedicated gamepads, Gameflix TV uses smartphones as virtual controllers. A Pair Your Controller button is visible at the top of the portal image. For someone with a compatible phone and TV, that could mean playing without buying additional gaming hardware.

Ludium Lab’s Sora GamePad also turns smartphones into controllers for games displayed on another screen. Gameflix TV is also advertising motion and AR technology as part of the portal. Malkiel describes these features as ways to get people moving while they play. The announcement doesn’t identify specific games that support them or explain how the interactions work.

There’s no word yet on which TVs will support the portal, where it’ll be available, or how much it’ll cost.
