PHYND has added Lords of Exile, Asfalia: Panic at the Mansion, Asterix & Obelix XXL: Romastered and Asterix & Obelix: Slap Them All! 2 to its free cloud gaming library. All four games are available now.
Lords of Exile brings old-school platforming and boss fights, while Asfalia takes you through a storybook world in search of missing puppies. The two Asterix games offer different ways to take on the Romans.
Lords of Exile Brings Retro Action, Asfalia Adds Puzzles
Lords of Exile follows Gabriel, a cursed knight fighting his way through the land of Exilia. This 8-bit action platformer has eight levels filled with enemies, traps and bosses. You can attack with melee weapons, throw projectiles and dash through dangerous areas.
Defeating bosses gives Gabriel new abilities, opening up more ways to tackle later stages. Once you’ve finished the main adventure, there are also Speedrunner and Boss Rush modes if you want another challenge. Visually, it’s all 8-bit pixel art, with a chiptune soundtrack to match.
Asfalia: Panic at the Mansion follows Charlie and Lily as they search for four puppies that disappeared after a storm. You’ll explore a hand-painted fantasy world, talk to its unusual residents and solve puzzles to find out where the puppies went.
There’s more to do than follow the main story. Stickers are hidden throughout the world, and some of the puzzles involve helping characters with their own problems. It’s a change of pace from Lords of Exile, with the focus on exploring and figuring things out rather than fighting.
Asterix and Obelix Take on Romans in Two Games
Asterix & Obelix XXL: Romastered begins with the Romans attacking the Gauls’ village and taking their friends captive. Asterix and Obelix head out to rescue them, travelling through places including Greece and Egypt. You can switch between the two characters, fight Romans and other enemies, and use magic potion when the fighting gets tough.
The remaster also includes a Retro mode that lets you switch to the original graphics, along with Course, Countdown and Extreme modes.
Asterix & Obelix: Slap Them All! 2 goes for side-scrolling beat ’em up action instead. The story follows a stolen Roman emblem and a man wrongly imprisoned for the theft. Combat includes Fury mode, special attacks and objects you can throw at enemies. The game also includes a two-person local co-op mode.
All four games are available on PHYND through compatible Samsung TVs, LG TVs and Fire TV devices, with no console, download or paid subscription required.
