PHYND has added two new games kicking off the Fourth of July weekend, with XIII and The Sisters – Party of the Year now available on the free cloud gaming service.

PHYND is also pairing the two new arrivals with three existing catalogue picks. These include Inspector Gadget: MAD Time Party, Arkanoid Eternal Battle, and Asterix & Obelix: Mission Babylon.

XIII And The Sisters Are Now On PHYND

XIII Brings First-Person Action To PHYND

Kicking things off, XIII is an M-rated action game. It’s a first-person action adventure where you step into the role of an amnesiac soldier trying to figure out who he is and why he has become part of a larger conspiracy.

The graphic novel inspiration is a big part of XIII’s identity. Its comic-book look and spy-thriller premise separate it from the party games and arcade picks around it. If you’re looking to play something on PHYND with a more serious tone, XIII is a great place to start.

The Sisters Brings Party Play To PHYND

The Sisters – Party of the Year is the other new game on PHYND. It’s rated E and goes in the opposite direction from XIII. It’s a party-game structure focused on mini-games and light competition.

The Sisters is more about quick challenges, playful rivalry, and playing with other people in the same room. It fits the kind of short and easy-start game. It makes sense when people are coming and going over a long weekend.

Three More PHYND Games Fill Out The Long Weekend

PHYND is also featuring Inspector Gadget: MAD Time Party, Arkanoid Eternal Battle, and Asterix & Obelix: Mission Babylon beside the two new arrivals.

Inspector Gadget: MAD Time Party is another E-rated party game. It features Inspector Gadget and friends tied to a set of mini-games. Arkanoid Eternal Battle is the arcade pick, using TAITO’s block-breaking formula and its more modern battle format. Asterix & Obelix: Mission Babylon is rated E 10+. It adds a co-op adventure style, with action, puzzles, and the comic mischief you expect from Asterix and Obelix.

It’s a better group than it first looks. XIII covers first-person action, The Sisters and Inspector Gadget are there for party play, Arkanoid Eternal Battle covers the arcade side, and Asterix & Obelix adds co-op adventure.

Kicking Off The Fourth of July Long Weekend With PHYND

XIII and The Sisters – Party of the Year are now on PHYND to kick off the Fourth of July weekend. If you’re looking for something else to play over the long weekend, Inspector Gadget, Arkanoid, and Asterix & Obelix are there too.

My first stop would be XIII for shooting, stealth, and a more serious tone. The Sisters makes more sense when the TV turns into a group game, and Inspector Gadget, Arkanoid, and Asterix & Obelix are there for the rest of the weekend when the room wants something different.
