PHYND beta is now available on LG Smart TVs in the U.S., bringing the subscription-free cloud gaming service to another major TV brand. The app supports LG Smart TVs from 2021 and newer running webOS 6.0 or higher.

LG TV owners can install PHYND through LG Apps and open it from LG Gaming Portal. Games can be played with a compatible Bluetooth gamepad, or a smartphone can be used as a virtual controller. There’s no console or subscription required, making this a welcome expansion for anyone who wanted to try PHYND but didn’t own a supported Samsung TV.

LG Smart TV Support Begins With 2021 Models

PHYND is free to use and supported by advertising, with games streamed through the app instead of downloaded individually.

The smartphone controller option also makes the service easier to try without buying another gamepad first. A compatible Bluetooth controller is still available for anyone who prefers a more traditional setup.

LG says gaming has been growing on webOS, and PHYND becomes another free, ad-supported option available through LG Gaming Portal. It’s a natural addition for a service that has focused on bringing cloud gaming directly to the television without requiring a console.

PHYND plans to add more games and app features throughout the beta. More platform support is also planned, although the company hasn’t named the next devices or provided a schedule.

PHYND has highlighted nine games for the LG Smart TV launch:

There’s a good amount of variety here for people trying PHYND for the first time. Garfield Lasagna Party, Smurfs Kart, and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? cover the family and party side of the catalogue, while Deathbound and Agatha Christie: Death on the Nile offer something more substantial.

The Lullaby of Life and Melbits World add puzzle-focused choices, and Urban Trial Playground brings motorcycle racing into the launch selection.

PHYND beta is also available on Samsung Smart TVs from 2022 and newer in the U.S. With LG support now live, the service reaches another large group of Smart TV owners while the beta continues to grow.
