Samsung has officially launched its mobile cloud gaming platform, bringing high-end gaming to Galaxy devices without the need for downloads or powerful hardware. The service is now out of beta and, currently only, available across North America. It promises a smoother and more accessible mobile gaming experience for Galaxy users.
Previously in beta, the platform allows users to play full-fledged Android games instantly via the Gaming Hub app. Unlike its predecessor, Instant Plays, which offered only mini-games, this new service streams demanding titles, overcoming limitations imposed by storage space or chipset capabilities.
This move not only benefits mobile gamers but also game publishers. By eliminating hardware barriers, Samsung expands the potential player base for developers. Furthermore, the platform supports existing monetization models and offers cloud-based attribution solutions.
Through the mobile cloud gaming beta, Samsung has seen instant access to games dramatically increase user acquisition performance, with a 50% conversion from initial click to game start – a tenfold improvement over the industry average. During the beta, cloud gaming on Galaxy devices also experienced substantial growth, with a 149% increase in monthly active users year-over-year in the United States and Canada.

Samsung is, allegedly, actively engaging with app makers around the world to secure a diverse and compelling game library for its platform. Unlike many competitors, Samsung aims to provide the core cloud gaming service without charging users subscription fees.
However, fees may be associated with accessing specific cloud gaming services or popular games through the platform, including options like Nvidia’s GeForce Now. This strategy could allow Samsung to generate service revenue streams beyond its traditional hardware sales, potentially reshaping its business model.
