Xbox Cloud Gaming Adds Support for Popular Free-to-Play Warframe

Three armored sci-fi characters with weapons stand on rocks by a river, with autumn trees and distant ships.

Xbox Cloud Gaming continues to expand its library of offerings, officially adding support for Digital Extremes’ massive free-to-play hit, Warframe. This addition arrives at the perfect time, following the launch of the game’s major Shadowgrapher update, allowing players to jump into action from almost any device.

The arrival of Warframe on the service is particularly important due to the game’s cross-save and cross-play functionality. Players who have spent years building their builds on PC or other consoles can now seamlessly transition their progress to the cloud. Loved seeing my original 2013 character again.

This latest addition follows a string of other games being added to the service. Just yesterday, Xbox Cloud welcomed titles like Mega Man and Resident Evil 7, signaling Xbox’s commitment to diversifying their cloud catalog.

Update 42 Now Available

The launch coincides with The Shadowgrapher (Update 42), which introduces the 64th Warframe, Follie. This new character features a unique kit, allowing players to slow enemies and even draw items into existence using a customizable sketchbook.

The update also introduces Follie’s Hunt, Warframe’s first horror-inspired game mode. This co-op mode tasks players with gathering paint to complete canvases while being stalked by an invincible, evolving version of Follie. For new players, the update also brings a fully remastered “Awakening” quest, making it the best time to start your journey.
