Blacknut Cloud Gaming Launches on VIZIO OS With a 30-Day Free Trial

The Blacknut cloud gaming app is shown on a VIZIO Smart TV home screen with a 30-day free trial banner and game art for NBA 2K23.

Blacknut is continuing its massive push into the living room by officially launching on VIZIO OS. If you own a compatible VIZIO Smart TV or an onn. TV powered by the VIZIO platform, you’ll find over 1,000 games ready to stream directly from your home screen. To mark the launch, Blacknut is offering new subscribers in the United States a 30-day free trial to test the cloud gaming service before the monthly sub begins.

This partnership is a big deal because it removes the need for any extra hardware like a console or a streaming stick. You just find the app in the VIZIO catalog, sync a controller, and start playing. The catalog includes recent hits from Ubisoft like Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, and Anno 117, along with favourites like Far Cry 5 and NBA 2K23.

Bringing a massive library to the biggest screen

The VIZIO launch makes high-end gaming feel as accessible as flipping through channels on Netflix. Because Blacknut handles everything in the cloud, you don’t have to deal with the 100GB downloads or constant update prompts that usually come with modern gaming. You pick a game and it simply starts. It is one of the reasons Blacknut has one of the largest cloud gaming platforms in the world.

You’ll have a few ways to control the action. Most Bluetooth controllers pair directly with the TV, but you’ll also have the choice to use your smartphone as a virtual gamepad through the virtual gamepay controller app. For some of the simpler family games or board games in the library, your standard VIZIO remote works just fine.

Family tools and profiles

Since the living room is a shared space, Blacknut includes tools to keep everyone’s progress separate. You’ll have five independent profiles under one subscription. One person explores the Exclusion Zone in Chernobylite 2: Exclusion Zone and another jumps into a few rounds of Overcooked! 2 without any save data conflicts. This is a big part of how the service surpassed the 1,000-game mark last year.

Blacknut also includes robust parental controls. You’ll be able to set up protected profiles for kids to ensure they only see age-appropriate content from the library. It makes the television a genuine gaming hub that everyone in the house uses safely.

Blacknut’s 100-million screen strategy

This move follows a year of aggressive expansion that saw Blacknut pre-installed on over 100 million screens. By adding VIZIO OS, the service is quickly becoming the most widely available cloud platform on the market. It follows their successful expansion onto LG and Samsung sets.

It’s a clear sign that they see the Smart TV as the heart of the gaming ecosystem, moving away from the era of expensive, hardware-locked consoles. If you’re in the US and want to try it out, you’ll find the app in the VIZIO apps catalog or the gaming collection on your home screen. Just remember that the 30-day trial automatically renews at the standard monthly rate once the month is up, so keep an eye on your account at VIZIO.com.
