Amazon Fire TV adds a Games Section, Highlights Luna

Games on Fire TV

The Amazon Fire TV team announced today that they will be adding a new Games section to their TV platform. The section will appear alongside other sections like “Movies”, “TV” and Genres like “Documentaries.” The section (at least for now) will highlight games from the Fire TV Android app store as well as cloud games from Luna.

The Games Section on Fire TV

While not being quite as useful as the gaming hub on Samsung TVs which curates games from multiple cloud services (including Xbox, GeForce Now and Luna), the Fire TV section should give Luna a little bit of extra visibility within Amazon’s own ecosystem.

It’ll be interesting to see if other cloud services get added to the Fire TV games section in the future, and if Android TV follows suit and creates a curated games section of its own.
