Meta and XBOX have launched XBOX Game Pass Starter Edition as a new benefit for Meta Horizon+ subscribers in supported regions. The rollout began on July 21, 2026, bringing more than 50 console and PC games, 10 hours of XBOX Cloud Gaming each month, cloud and PC multiplayer, XBOX Rewards, and support for streaming select games members already own.
Access runs through the XBOX app on Meta Quest. Members can also download games from the included library to a compatible PC or XBOX console without using the monthly cloud allowance.
Starter Edition Includes 50+ Games And 10 Hours Of Cloud Gaming
The included library features games such as Fallout 4, Grounded, Overcooked! 2, SnowRunner, Deep Rock Galactic, DayZ, and Fallout 76. Meta says the selection will change over time as games enter and leave the Starter Edition catalogue.
Cloud gaming is capped at 10 hours each month. Members can also stream supported games they own digitally. Progress follows the same XBOX account across Meta Quest, PC, XBOX consoles, and other supported devices. Using the benefit requires linking a Meta account with a Microsoft account.
Downloads work separately from the cloud allowance. Members can install games from the Starter Edition library on a compatible PC or XBOX console and play without a monthly time limit. Access continues while the game remains in the library and the Meta Horizon+ subscription stays active.
Meta combines the 50-plus Game Pass library with more than 100 VR games already included in Horizon+ when advertising access to more than 150 games. That figure combines two separate libraries rather than representing 150 games available through XBOX Cloud Gaming.
Meta Quest Touch Controllers Will Emulate An XBOX Gamepad
A separate update will let Meta Quest Touch controllers function like an XBOX gamepad. The emulator maps the Touch controller inputs to XBOX controls, letting people start compatible Game Pass games without pairing another controller.
The feature is scheduled to roll out in the coming weeks. Anyone who prefers a traditional controller will still be able to pair a supported gamepad with the headset.
For Horizon+ subscribers who don’t have a compatible gamepad nearby, the emulator removes one extra step before starting a game.
Meta Horizon+ Follows Discord Nitro With The Starter Edition
Discord Nitro began including XBOX Game Pass Starter Edition on May 11, 2026. Its benefit also includes more than 50 games and 10 hours of XBOX Cloud Gaming each month. Discord added a Play button that can launch supported Game Pass games from a friend’s stream or game activity.
Meta Horizon+ now joins Discord Nitro as another partner subscription carrying the Starter Edition. For both Meta Horizon+ and Discord Nitro, access is connected to an active partner membership.
Meta Horizon+ costs $7.99 USD per month or $59.99 USD per year. The Game Pass benefit is available now in supported regions, while the Quest Touch controller emulator is scheduled for the coming weeks.
