PHYND Expands Fire TV Support to Hisense, TCL, Panasonic and More

PHYND Fire TV compatibility announcement showing Hisense, Panasonic, Insignia, Toshiba and TCL televisions running Fire OS.

PHYND has expanded its Fire TV compatibility to include select televisions from Hisense, Panasonic, Insignia, Toshiba and TCL. Some of the newly listed models date back to 2018, so this isn’t limited to recently released TVs.

PHYND first launched on select Amazon Fire TV devices on August 11th, including Fire TV Sticks, the third-generation Fire TV Cube and Amazon Ember TVs. The latest expansion brings support to Fire OS televisions from other manufacturers.

Five More TV Brands Join PHYND’s Fire OS Compatibility List

PHYND’s updated device list includes 20 television entries across the five brands. Some refer to individual models, while others identify a series or release year. They range from older HD Fire TV Edition sets to newer 4K and QLED televisions. The supported software versions vary too, with Fire OS 6, 7 and 8 all represented. Here’s the breakdown by manufacturer.

ManufacturerSupported TV models and Fire OS versions
HisenseA4NF (8), 4K 2025 (8)
Panasonic4K Fire TV 2024 US and US FF (8), W70B LED 4K (8)
TCLClass Q Series 4K QLED (7), Class S3 1080p (7), 4K UHD HDR (8)
ToshibaFire TV Edition 4K and HD 2018 (6), 4K UHD 2020 and 2021 (7), V35 (7), M550 (7), C350LU (7), C350 (8)
InsigniaFire TV Edition 4K and HD 2018 (6), Insignia/Pioneer 2K 2022 (7), 4K FTV (8)

Numbers in parentheses indicate the Fire OS version.

The list also includes some surprisingly old televisions. Both Toshiba and Insignia have 2018 Fire TV Edition televisions on the list. Each has 4K and HD versions running Fire OS 6. At the other end, PHYND lists a 2025 Hisense 4K television running Fire OS 8. The announcement covers models released years apart, rather than focusing only on current televisions.

The software versions also differ within some manufacturers’ ranges. PHYND lists Toshiba’s C350LU with Fire OS 7 and its C350 with Fire OS 8. TCL’s Class Q and Class S3 televisions run Fire OS 7. Its 4K UHD HDR model uses Fire OS 8. Support for a brand doesn’t automatically cover every Fire OS television it sells.

Other Fire OS Devices on PHYND’s Compatibility List

PHYND’s wider device list contains a few additional entries outside the five brands in its latest announcement. Under “Other / Multi-brand,” it identifies 2020 Fire TV Edition sets from Onida/AKAI and AB/Croma, both running Fire OS 6. It also lists a 2019 Nebula D3000 soundbar and identifies it as a soundbar, not a television. Those entries are separate from the five manufacturers highlighted in PHYND’s latest announcement.

The five manufacturers appear alongside Amazon Fire TV Omni, 4-Series and 2-Series televisions on PHYND’s website. Fire TV Stick and Cube devices are also listed. That’s a wider selection of Fire OS hardware than PHYND named during its August Fire TV beta launch.
