Some Google TV users finally have a reason to celebrate. Xbox Game Pass cloud streaming is making its way to the platform. This rollout begins with TCL and its latest hardware. The news surfaced alongside the reveal of the new X11L flagship television.
Expanding the Xbox Ecosystem
This move marks a significant shift for Microsoft. It broadens the “Everything is an Xbox” mantra that the company started pushing last year. By moving beyond consoles, Microsoft aims to put its library on every screen possible. Adding Google TV to the list is a major step in that direction. It has also being announced that Game Pass will be coming to some Hisense TVs in the near future.
TCL Leads the Way
TCL confirmed that support will arrive through a future software update. The X11L flagship will be the first to receive this feature. Users will be able to access games through a dedicated app. This application will focus specifically on cloud streaming capabilities.
A Long Awaited Arrival
Other platforms already enjoy this service. Samsung TVs have supported Game Pass for a long time. Fire TV and LG devices recently joined the list as well. Google TV and Android TV remained the last major gaps in the strategy. While there were hints of support years ago, those projects never fully launched until now.
The Future of the Platform
Details remain limited at this stage. However, there is no evidence that this app will stay exclusive to TCL. This launch likely signals a much wider rollout. We expect (and predict) Xbox Game Pass to eventually land on all compatible Google TV devices soon.
