Bowling Mayhem is now available exclusively on Amazon Luna, giving Prime members a new GameNight bowling game that uses phones as controllers. Amazon first announced it in the September lineup as coming soon.
Together with Space Metal Mania, Bowling Mayhem gives Amazon Luna two exclusive games this month. That makes exclusive releases a bigger part of Amazon Luna’s September lineup, with one tied to GameNight and another sitting outside that format.
Bowling Mayhem Uses Phones for Classic Tenpin Bowling
Up to six people can play Bowling Mayhem across Classic Mode and Mayhem Mode. Classic Mode uses standard tenpin rules. On a phone, you set shot power and spin with the touchscreen, then release the ball.
GameNight uses the TV as the main screen and phones as controllers. Bowling Mayhem was one of four new GameNight games in Amazon’s September announcement, alongside King of Tokyo, It’s Quiz Time: Guinness World Records, and Cranium Planet.
Mayhem Mode moves away from standard tenpin rules with obstacles and ways to interfere with each shot.
Mayhem Mode Adds More Than 65 Wildcards
Mayhem Mode adds more than 65 Wildcards that can change the lane or interfere with a shot. The Flying Saucer flips your controls, and the Ball Launcher lets you redirect the ball.
Touchscreen or gyro controls let you steer around obstacles, and each person can control a Wildcard between turns. Someone waiting to bowl can still interfere with another shot before it reaches the pins.
Lead designer Joshua Richardson said memories of group bowling games in front of the TV shaped the project. He said the competitive side was already working in early prototypes, when hazards gave everyone ways to disrupt another person’s turn.
Amazon Luna Is Expanding Its Exclusive Game Strategy
When Amazon relaunched Amazon Luna in 2025, GameNight became a major part of the service. Amazon said GameNight would feature exclusive games developed by Amazon and that new GameNight games would continue to be added.
Bowling Mayhem continues that GameNight plan as an Amazon Luna exclusive. Space Metal Mania goes beyond that format. It is a top-down shooter with local co-op and licensed heavy metal music, and it is also exclusive to Amazon Luna.
That gives Amazon Luna two exclusive games in September with very different audiences in mind. Bowling Mayhem is part of GameNight. Space Metal Mania sits outside that social party-game format. The combination makes exclusives a more prominent part of Amazon Luna’s September lineup.
