Therefore, we are really excited to announce the launch of a brand new collaboration with the amazing folks at Cloud Gaming Xtreme. It’s called the “Cloud Gaming Weekly Xtreme News Dose.” What is it? It’s a summary of all the most important cloud gaming happenings from the week prior in both video and written summary form. And, this week is our pilot!

The goal of this collaboration is to provide the definitive weekly cloud gaming roundup for anyone and everyone to quickly get caught up on what’s been going on. And, without further ado, we want to get right to it!

We twice checked in on the list of Steam games that have been opted in to GeForce NOW by the games’ publishers. A number of notable games were found! Here are some of the top games:

European Union Reaches Opposing Decision to UK on Microsoft Activision Deal

CMA vs European Commision

On Monday, the European Union (EU) reached a decision to approve the Microsoft and Activision merger. The EU agreed with the UK Consumer Markets Authority (CMA) that cloud gaming should be a consideration in the deal, but found that Microsoft’s proposed remedy was sufficient to alleviate any concerns.

The proposed remedy required allowing any cloud gaming service to license Activision games for 10 years in a way that allows users who already have their own license to those games to play them via the cloud.

This has reignited the hopes of proponents of the deal despite the fact that the CMA later doubled down on its decision to block the merger in a response via twitter to the EU announcement.

The First Xbox Games Arrive on GeForce NOW

Gears 5 became the first Xbox game to arrive on GeForce NOW – the result of a 10 year agreement between NVIDIA and Microsoft. Next week, on May 25, three more Xbox titles will arrive on GFN – specifically: Deathloop, Grounded and Pentiment.

GeForce NOW has also added a new deals row to its catalog on the website and mobile app which highlights games that are on sale.

Atari Recharged Titles Among Pack of Games to Join Utomik

New Atari Titles on Utomik

Utomik, the all you can play game subscription service covering both PC and Cloud gaming, brought several new titles to the cloud this week. Utomik Cloud added Tin Hearts on the day of its release, beating even GeForce NOW to the punch on this title.

In addition, Utomik cloud picked up Elypse as well as Atari games Centipede: Recharged, Black Widow: Recharged and Kombinera.

Luna Set to Lose Resident Evil, Mega Man Legacy and DiRT Rally 2 in June

Games Leaving Amazon Luna in June

The Luna+ catalog is a rotating collection of games that get refreshed each month. Over the past 6 months, the number of games in the catalog dropped significantly until recently leveling off near the 100 mark. Games are still coming and going, however, and through the end of May and early June the following 7 top games from the Luna library will be leaving the service.

Xbox Game Pass Titles Come and Go

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and Xbox Cloud Gaming is also set to lose some games at the end of the month. In particular, the cloud service will lose:

However, the Xbox Cloud Gaming picked up two new titles this week (neither of which was announced as coming to the cloud ahead of time),

with Massive Chalice and Railway Empire 2 set to arrive next week among possible other late additions.
