VodafoneThree has announced that Vodafone TV will launch in the UK this October with more than 300 cloud games through Netgem’s PLEIO platform. The new Android TV service will also support Blacknut through Google Play, giving customers a second cloud gaming option with access to Blacknut’s separate catalogue of more than 1,000 games.
PLEIO comes as part of Vodafone TV, while Blacknut will be a separate app through Google Play. So when Vodafone TV launches in October, customers will have two different ways to play games through the cloud on the same box.
PLEIO Brings More Than 300 Cloud Games to Vodafone TV
Netgem’s PLEIO platform powers the cloud gaming side of Vodafone TV, with more than 300 games available through the service.
You can play with a compatible Bluetooth controller or use a smartphone. Vodafone TV will be available to new and existing Vodafone customers with a home broadband, 5G Broadband or mobile plan.
PLEIO has also continued adding games to its catalogue. In July, five more games arrived, including Under The Waves and Agatha Christie – Death on the Nile.
Blacknut Adds a Separate Cloud Gaming Option
Blacknut will also be available on Vodafone TV through the Google Play Store. Because Vodafone TV runs Android TV, customers will be able to install the Blacknut app and access its separate cloud gaming catalogue.
Blacknut’s catalogue includes more than 1,000 games, separate from the 300-plus games available through PLEIO.
Blacknut has been adding more games too. In August, a new Toplitz Productions partnership brought six games to the service, including Vampires: Bloodlord Rising.
The Vodafone TV support also follows Blacknut’s recent expansion to TiVo OS devices. In August, the service began expanding to supported televisions from brands including Sharp, Metz and Thomson.
Vodafone TV Expands PLEIO’s UK Reach
VodafoneThree chose Netgem to power PLEIO on Vodafone TV, giving the platform another major UK telecom deployment.
That lines up with the direction Netgem has been pushing this year. In August, we reported that the company was taking PLEIO to IBC 2026 as it looked for more operator deals, with additional UK deployments expected during the second half of the year.
Vodafone TV now gives us one of those deployments. Pricing is still the big unknown, with Vodafone yet to say how much the service will cost when it launches in October.
