A graph with an upward trend, a prominent red maple leaf, and a red game controller amidst clouds, symbolizes Canada’s top-selling games of May 2025.

Welcome back to the Canadian edition of Charting in the Clouds, our monthly look at Canada’s best-selling games of October 2025 and the latest Canadian game sales trends. Thanks to new data from the Entertainment Software Association of Canada (ESA) and Circana, we’ve got another clear snapshot of what Canadians were buying in October.

October saw a surge of major releases and returning franchises. Battlefield 6 launched strong at number one, while Pokémon Legends: Z-A debuted in second, despite Nintendo’s digital sales not being included. Ghost of Yotei gave Sony a notable placement at number three, and EA Sports FC 26 and NHL 26 rounded out a sports-heavy top five.

We’ve also included cloud gaming availability again this month. Many of October’s top games can be played in the cloud on platforms like GeForce NOW, Xbox Cloud Gaming, Amazon Luna, and Boosteroid.

Let’s take a closer look at Canada’s top-selling games for October 2025.

October came in swinging. Battlefield 6 opened at number one, showing EA still knows how to pull attention with a big shooter. Pokémon Legends: Z-A followed close behind, which is impressive when you remember Nintendo’s digital sales are not even counted here. Ghost of Yotei landed in third, giving Sony a solid foothold going into the holiday push. And EA Sports FC 26 plus NHL 26 kept EA’s sports streak alive, both settling comfortably inside the top five.

Scrolling further down, Little Nightmares III holding sixth was not surprising since that series has a way of pulling people in once word spreads. The Outer Worlds 2 jumping in despite a late October launch also says a lot; sometimes curiosity really does turn into day one spending. Digimon Story: Time Stranger showed up at eighth, giving Bandai Namco two titles on the list. Then NBA 2K26 and Borderlands 4 rounded things out, which feels fitting since long running series do not go away easily.

Big releases, returning hits, and sports titles all competing for attention make October feel crowded, especially as holiday hype starts building.

October 2025 Wrap Up and a Look Ahead

October felt like the warm up before the holiday sprint. Big launches hit, familiar franchises refused to leave, and you could almost feel people deciding what they will be playing over the next few months. Shooters, sports games, and long running series all found space near the top, which does not happen every month.

What made this list fun was how spread out the interest seemed. Battlefield 6 and Pokémon Legends: Z-A drew huge attention right away, but you also had The Outer Worlds 2 sliding in late and still making waves. Then there were quieter but curious picks like Little Nightmares III and Digimon Story: Time Stranger, reminding us that not everyone is locked into the biggest releases.

November should be a wild one. Black Friday deals are coming, Nintendo Switch 2 libraries are growing, and a few delayed titles are finally arriving. By this time next month, the rankings could shift in ways none of us expect.
