Welcome back to the Canadian edition of Charting in the Clouds, our monthly look at Canada’s top-selling games and the latest Canadian game sales trends. Thanks to new data from the Entertainment Software Association of Canada (ESA) and Circana, we’ve now got a clear snapshot of what Canadians were buying in April 2026.
April looks very different from March. Five games entered the top 10 compared with last month: Pragmata, Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream, Starfield, Saros, and Diablo IV. Resident Evil: Requiem moved from first to seventh, MLB: The Show 26 held in the top 10 at sixth, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 stayed on the list at tenth. Minecraft moved from tenth to ninth.
We’ve included cloud gaming availability again this month. Most of April’s top 10 has at least one cloud option, with games available through services such as GeForce NOW, XBOX Cloud Gaming, PlayStation Cloud, Boosteroid, airgpu, CloudDeck, and Shadow PC. Both Nintendo games, Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream and Pokemon: Pokopia, reflect Nintendo’s physical-only reporting and are not currently available in the cloud.
Let’s take a closer look at Canada’s top-selling games for April 2026.

Pragmata Starts April 2026 At Number One
Pragmata’s first-place finish is April’s biggest chart move. Capcom’s sci-fi action game moved straight to first place in Canada and pushed March’s leader, Resident Evil: Requiem, down to seventh.
The top five also shows how quickly April changed the chart. Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream came in second, Starfield reached third, Saros landed fourth, and Diablo IV returned at fifth. That mix makes April feel noticeably different from March, where Resident Evil, sports games, and Marathon shaped much of the top 10.
April also brings a wider mix of publishers into the top five. Capcom has the number-one game with Pragmata, Nintendo follows with Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream, XBOX has Starfield and Diablo IV, and PlayStation takes fourth with Saros. The result is a broader publisher spread than March. Without one genre taking over the top half of the chart.
Nintendo And Returning Games Fill Out April
Nintendo has two games in April’s top 10, with Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream at second and Pokemon: Pokopia at eighth. It’s important to note that Nintendo’s digital sales aren’t included in this chart. That means both Tomodachi Life and Pokopia don’t include digital purchases.
The lower half of the chart contains mostly games that carried over from March. MLB: The Show 26 moved from second to sixth, Resident Evil: Requiem moved from first to seventh, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 moved from seventh to tenth. Minecraft also moved into ninth, which keeps one of gaming’s longest-running sellers on the Canadian chart again.
Several March games dropped out of the top 10. WWE 2K26, Marathon, Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection, EA Sports FC 26, and NHL 26 all left the list in April. That gives April a cleaner split between new April chart entries and older games with longer sales legs.
April 2026 Wrap Up And Look Ahead
April’s Canadian chart feels like a clean break from March. Resident Evil: Requiem no longer sits at the top, the sports games have slipped back, and Marathon is gone from the top 10. In their place, Capcom, Nintendo, XBOX, and PlayStation all show up across the top five.
From a cloud gaming angle, April is a useful month to track. Eight of the ten games have at least one verified cloud option, and several are available across multiple services. The clearest exceptions are Nintendo’s two charting games, which are not available in the cloud. April’s list shows that Canada’s best-selling games are spreading across more ways to play, but some of the biggest Nintendo games still sit apart from that shift.
What about you? Which of these April games did you play?
