Charting in the Clouds: Canada’s Top-Selling Games of May 2026

A graph with an upward trend, a prominent red maple leaf, and a red game controller amidst clouds, symbolizes Canada’s top-selling games of May 2025.

Welcome back to the Canadian edition of Charting in the Clouds, our monthly look at Canada’s top-selling games and the latest Canadian game sales trends. Thanks to new data from the Entertainment Software Association of Canada and Circana, we’ve now got a clear snapshot of what Canadians were buying in May 2026. Forza Horizon 6 led Canada’s top-selling games of May 2026, followed by LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight and 007 First Light.

May replaced April’s entire top three games, which immediately made this one of the more interesting Canadian charts we’ve seen this year. Forza Horizon 6, LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, 007 First Light, and Yoshi and the Mysterious Book are all new to May’s top 10. Three of those games launched during the final part of May, with LEGO Batman and 007 First Light reaching second and third after only a short time on sale. Six games carried over from April, including Pragmata, which moved from first to tenth.

We’ve included cloud gaming availability again this month. Eight of May’s top 10 can be played through at least one cloud gaming service, including GeForce NOW, XBOX Cloud Gaming, PlayStation Cloud, Boosteroid, airgpu, CloudDeck, and Shadow PC. Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream and Yoshi and the Mysterious Book are the only two games without current cloud availability.

Let’s take a closer look at Canada’s top-selling games for May 2026.

Forza Horizon 6 Leads a Completely New Top Three

Forza Horizon 6 enters May’s chart at number one, with LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight and 007 First Light directly behind it. None appeared in April. LEGO Batman launched on May 22, and 007 First Light followed on May 27.

I like seeing the Forza series move from one end of the chart to the other. Forza Horizon 5 placed tenth in January, and four months later Forza Horizon 6 sits at number one. Pragmata remains in the top 10 at tenth after leading April. Diablo IV moved from fifth to seventh. Starfield and Saros left the list after placing third and fourth in April.

Every game from sixth through tenth carried over from April. Most of May’s changes happened above them.

Nintendo Holds Fourth and Fifth Above Five Returning Games

Nintendo has two games beside each other in May. Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream moved from second to fourth, and Yoshi and the Mysterious Book entered at fifth after launching on May 21. Nintendo’s digital purchases aren’t counted in Circana’s chart, so both positions reflect physical sales only. Yoshi reached fifth without its digital purchases included.

The lower half includes three games that have stayed on the chart for several months. Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is the only game to appear in every monthly chart from January through May. It placed second in January and February before moving to seventh in March, tenth in April, and ninth in May.

Resident Evil: Requiem has now appeared for four consecutive months. It entered at number one in February, stayed there in March, moved to seventh in April, and reached sixth in May. MLB: The Show 26 entered at second in March, moved to sixth in April, and reached eighth in May.

May 2026 Wrap Up And Look Ahead

Most of May’s changes happened in the first five places. Resident Evil: Requiem, MLB: The Show 26, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 remained below them after appearing across several 2026 charts. Eight of May’s ten games have at least one verified cloud option, matching April’s total. Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream and Yoshi and the Mysterious Book are the two exceptions.

June will be the first full month on sale for LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, 007 First Light, and Yoshi and the Mysterious Book. I’m most curious to see where 007 First Light ends up after it entered at third following its May 27 launch. We’ll also see whether LEGO Batman and Yoshi remain in the top five. Resident Evil: Requiem, MLB: The Show 26, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 could remain on the chart for another month.

What about you? Which of these May games did you play?
